The privacy of our users was taken into serious consideration when designing our software. That’s why the arrival of the GDPR didn’t worry us at all. This EU privacy legislation known as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), imposes strict rules for the protection of privacy. Thanks to our unique approach, FlexWhere complies with all these rules and didn’t need to make any major changes.
The app is safe and secure
Privacy-by-design begins with the app. Our app does not require authorisations. This means that we don’t collect location data, we don’t wish to pry into your contacts or calendars, we don’t demand access to your microphone or camera and certainly don’t want to send any text messages. This new way of working is all well and good, but it must be done securely.
Unlike many other companies, we do not permanently store privacy-sensitive data. We link our software to the organisation’s servers, meaning that we only work with personal data that is already stored on our client’s computers. A further advantage: FlexWhere always works with the most up-to-date information, thanks to this link.
FlexWhere runs on the highly secure servers owned by AWS in Germany. The data never leaves the European Economic Area (EEA) as required by the GDPR. The connections between our servers and the organisation are secured. The FlexWhere app and the web pages are always connected to the secure https. No one is able to pry. Want to know more about our security? Read our article about security.
Of course, we also make backups. Statistical data is stored daily in one of AWS’ European data centres. Here too, we keep the privacy of our users in mind. We do not store any personal data, only anonymous statistics. In terms of the occupancy rate of a floor or a building, these statistics cannot be traced back to an identifiable person.
Personal data monitoring and security is not only important between computers. It’s also about who can access the data. Upon request, our employees can offer assistance in solving specific problems. This access is also secured. All our employees have also signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and have delivered a government-issued Certificate of Good Conduct.
Privacy questions arise in every organisation. Can the app be used outside the building? Is it okay for colleagues to know who is working where? What about telephone numbers? Are special skills shown or not? FlexWhere offers options so that each organisation can choose what is important.
FlexWhere users need not worry about their privacy. They work with the assurance that their data is secure and confidential. It’s nice to rest assured.
